Victory loss ratio during israeli-sirian air battles in 1982 and 1991 Gulf war could be not representative of the real advantage in aerial combat of US against Eastern countries ( USSR in particular ). In my opinion a 1:15 or so ratio which is near to the one achieved during the last part of vietnam war (talking about only us naval aviators) could be more representative of real situation.
Everyone is invited to post an OBJECTIVE opinion, which could be in total contrast with my personal impression, since the aim of this thread is find some historical material supporting one or the other part of the cold war contenders.
