Po-ruski govorish? Or: Who actually speaks Russian here?

Back in the now locked Hind/Tomcat-kill thread, Pesho raised the very valid question which of us forumites (and in particular those with some interest in Russian aviation) actually have know to read Russian at least for a bit. I might be misinterpreting here, but i think he suggested that a lot of the so-called “Russia-bashers” in fact don’t read Russian at all, and only get a negative outlook on Russian sources by looking at dubious yet Western-language sites like Venik’s cesspool of drivel.
