Aviation fuel costs

Just thought i’d share with you guys something aviation related i found interesting. Read an item at http://www.defenceaerospace.com about rising fuel costs to the USAF. According to the article the USAF spent US$4.2 billion for fuel in FY2005 (didnt say how much of that was aircaft fuel) but what i found interesting was the amount the USAF paid, per gallon, for JP-8: US$2.53. I would assume the USAF gets a bulk user discount but i hadnt seen a figure before. Wonder what it costs to fill up a Buff? Glad im not paying for it! 😮 ps I wonder how this compares to (for eg) euro NATO countries where fuel is a LOT more expensive….
