I went to Coltishall the other month with Grandad. It was funny timing as I happened to have a few days off during a period that they were having days for Polish Air Force personell. So grandad was most pleased in going for one last time. He remembered the hangers etc.. Just was a bit anoying that his squadron was not mentioned.
A very nice place.

The CRO at Coltishall has contacted us and said that there will be no family’s day at the station this year, nor will there be an airshow.

I’ve Googled and it does appear that there is a famillies day at Coltishall in September, though not open to the public and neither the Reds or any of the BBMF are taking part.

I think it’s highly unlikely, when the last Jag took off in April, they said no more flying.
I would also imagine that a lot of the infrastructure has been removed too, Bigverne will know more about this.
It’s also been mentioned before that the poor road system in the area couldn’t cope with it and after the terrible traffic jams at the last show in 1980, it was said that no more would be held, in fact it was so bad then that it was only my knowledge of the local lanes that I got in at all and when I tried to leave, I didn’t get even off the base till after 2100 hrs, and then had to face the qeue into Norwich, no joke getting home at midnight.
In fact when I went to see the last Jaguar flypast, trying to get round Norwich was a nightmare, I knew it would and actually considered catching the train to Wroxham and biking from there, except that taking bikes on trains these days is virtually impossible. When I left, and there were a lot of people around that day, I went through all the lanes to Dereham and home from there, but even then it took me hours.
