Canadian Forces 'Snowbird' Commemmoration

Officially announced today…

The Royal Canadian Mint and Canada Post unveiled a beautiful collectors’ package containing a $5 coin and th Canada Post comemmorative Stamps announced 2 weeks ago.

This finally combines our two great national comemmorators’ works in a package suitable for any and all aviation enthusiasts.

The Snowbirds have thrilled and entertained North American audiences for 36 years, providing not only ambassadorship for our Air Force but our ‘Forces in genral and the Nation above all.

Anyone who has seen the Snowbirds perform will know what I’m typing about… those of you who haven’t… please make the effort… unfortunately the Snows cannot make it beyond the boundaries of North America… such is the life when you fly a 40 year old aircraft with short legs.

For anyone who can make the trip… please do, here’s the schedule

http://www.snowbirds.forces.gc.ca/site/airshows/schedule_e.asp

I’ve seen them in Canada and across the ‘States and if you are familiar with thier show… it has a completely different feel ‘away from home’

and, No, I’m not acting as an agent for any of the above mentioned organizations.
