It looks like the UK government is finally going to get to grips with its official transport problems and lease a couple of newer types to carry ministers and the Royal family around.
Apparently the UK gov wants a 737 and a 15 to 20 seater type which as yet has to be chosen.
Whilst there will be flack from the UK press it does appear to be the sensible move considering the queens flight Bae.146 and single VC.10 are past it and the problems recently with the lease of commercial types including Tony Blair having to arrive at a conference in an aircraft with an Austrian flag and a leased DC8 suffering an engine failure.
