Media Ignorance?

Is it me, or is there a large scale ignorance of defence issues when it comes to the media.

All you ever hear is ‘army’ this, ‘army’ that the Royal Navy and RAF hardly get a look in. Could this be a case of ‘out of sight out of mind?’

Before the true information was revealed, the media ‘presumed’ that the Helicopter, which was tragically shot down in Basra was from the army, they also ‘presumed’ that those on board were ‘soldiers.’

Coupled with most of the population being ignorant of defence issues (I myself am in no way an expert, but try to take interest in what’s going on) no wonder successive governments have got away with massive defence cuts. 🙁
