Ok, it has probably been discused many tmes in detail how much of a step forward these two planes are comparing to latest F-15 & F-16 frames. But are they really going to be better up there practically speaking?
Somehow I cannot see F-35 outperform F-16, and latest Mig-29s Rafals, Gripens…etc in real life organized duel. Of course if they face 3rd world countries barely flying mig its an easy win, but I’m talking about newest versions on both sides. Whats F-35’s real advantage, other than maybe better avionics. I just dont believe in its stealth advantage specially when it loads itself on external hard points without which it can carry very little.
How is F-35 going to be used better than todays F-16. Its aerodynamics are not impressive.
F-22 has some size at least, and trust vectoring to compenzate for stealth shape that isn’t quite ment for sharp turns of any kind. Its a more serious plane and can be developed much further. What better weapons will F-22 carry that can F-15 or Super Hornet couldn’t so far?
