Rafale combat aircraft flies configured with Meteor missiles

MBDA today announced that the first flight of a Rafale combat aircraft configured with MBDA’s Meteor beyond visible range air-to-air missile was successfully carried out at Istres in south east France.

Carried out on 7 September, it was the first time Rafale flew equipped with Meteor missiles positioned on both its wings and fuselage carriage points.

MBDA says: “This is confirmation that Meteor, which will equip Rafale, Eurofighter Typhoon and Gripen, is meeting the various demanding milestones that have been set out in the development programme.

“The Meteor will contribute to the future success of European wings.”
