What is the status of the TVC EJ-200?

I read a while ago that the TVC version of the EJ-200 had undergone substantia ground testing and that it was planned to fit it in a eurofighter prototype in 2003 (I assume that this didnt happen). It was also going to be fitted to the German/American X-31 for trials, did this happen and if so what were the results?
Or (as I fear) has the entire programme been shelved?
