Best advandced jet trainer for combat operations?

Many third world nations do not need an advanced mach 2 fighters. Often they opt for an advanced jet trainer to conduct all or part of there need for combat operations. So my question is what is the best advanced jet trainer (or fighter version of jet trainers) for combat operations and how does they compare:

What is you choice and why! My favourites are Hawk 100/200 and AMX but I have been away from modern military aircraft for the last 10 years! So I have probably missed the latest development! 😉
