USMC opts for new-build UH-1Y
The Bell Helicopter Textron UH-1Y Iroquois (Huey) light utility helicopter element of the US Marine Corps’ (USMC) H-1 Upgrades programme is to move to a new-build programme rather than be remanufactured from USMC UH-1Ns currently in use.

Got this in my e-mail recently with the Jane’s News Briefs. I don’t have a subscription though. Is there anyone who might have full access to the article? I’m interested in learning more about it. To anyone who had doubts about the capability of the UH-1Y because it was a remanufacturing job, should have their fears put to rest with this decision. I think it’s a more expensive move, but a good one nonetheless for the Corps.
What do others think of this decision?
