[Accident Report] PLAAF accident on 5 February 2005 in China

On 5 February 2005, in the Shen Yang Military District, a PLAAF jet fighter, type unknown, made an emergency landing.
It belonged to a division of the Shen Yang Military District Air Force.
Its pilot was Pilot First Class KUANG Wei.
At 13:48, during a training sortie, at altitude 2,500 m, it had an explosion sound, and its right engine shook. Its pilot aborted its manoeuvring, reported to the ground controller, and RTB from 60 km from the AB.
20 km from the AB, because its engine hydraulic pressure decreased, its landing gear at first didn’t lower, but its pilot managed to lower the landing gear. Then, its right engine caught fire and began smoking, and its pilot shut down the engine.
At 14:14, heavily smoking, it made its emergency landing.
