F-8E

When people talk of the Crusader, it’s almost always about its exploits against NVAF MiG’s or its long service with the Aeronavale. I’m curious about the only version with a decent air-to-ground capability, the F-8E. How many units operated the F-8E in the air-to-ground role, and with how much success? Was the Bullpup widely used (although I know it was considered a mediocre weapon at best)? What about napalm, and rockets? (Could the dual-rocket packs be mounted along with AIM-9’s or was it all AIM-9’s or all rockets on the fuselage pylons? I’ve seen some photos with F-8E’s carrying either Mk-81’s or Mk-82’s, but little else. Anyone got good info on the Crusader’s air-to-ground operations?
