Yf 23 or YF 22?

Noticed a few of you prefer the YF 23. Which do we think (aesthetics aside) would have better served the U.S. In other words was the F/A 22’s focus on maneouvrability really valid (given Aim 9x type threats, helmet mounted sights) versus Northrops belief in long range BVR duels and avoiding dogfights altogether. It is claimed Lockheed won in part because it had a better record delivering the goods than Northrop and McDonnel Douglas at the time (Tacit Rainbow / A12 overruns). But Lockheed really haven’t been much better have they? Also which do we think had better stealth. I welcome your expert opinions.
