I’ve just been to see this movie with family, and I must say it’s a well done film with an outstanding acting performance by Leonardo DiCaprio as well as the supporting cast….Cate Blanchett is superb as Katherine Hepburn. I highly recommend this movie to anyone with an aviation interest (obviously any of you guys/gals here), an interest in the man who was Howard Hughes, and anyone who likes a movie set during the early to mid-part of the 20th century. (I personally have always enjoyed films that take place during that time period i.e. 1920’s to 1950’s simply because I obviously didn’t get to live during such an interesting period of time.) I understand some of you may be skeptical of American’s and Hollywood, but this movie was really enjoyable for me. I highly recommend it. It’s got some great scenes of not only the Spruce Goose, but the XF-11 that Hughes developed as a high-speed photo-recce plane for the Army Air Force plus his exploits in the movies (i.e. Hell’s Angels) and his speed record attempts.
