how feasible would it be had the US decided to produce the X-29 as a cheap light weight, point defense fighter. being used similarly to how J-7 variants are as well as the F-5 used.
It was engined with a well reliable and fuel efficient single engine and had many common components with other aircraft.
It was manouverable in subsonic regimes and could challenge other aircraft of it’s class.
