Su-30MKI vs Rafale, which one India should've gotten?

We know the Indians love their Mirage 2000s like a fat kid loves cake. They’ve shown that they’re willing to purchase western aricraft like the Mirage, Jaguar, and Sea Harrier. Instead of purchasing the Su-30K and MKI, would their needs been better served by the Rafale? It would probably have a much higher per unit cost, but I am assuming it has a much lower operation/maintenance costs, could use existing weapons on the Mirage 2000, and it’s M88 series engines could’ve been adopted for the LCA instead creating commonality. Plus it has that Dassault quality the IAF pilots seem to love 😉
