During my visit to Zhukovsky for the Aerobatics Festival, I spotted an Il-76 with its tail sticking out of a hangar.
The hangar doors were closed around the rear fuselage and fin – and they had even blanked off the gap around the lower fuselage.
It looked quite comical from the rear end – so I snapped off a couple of surrepticious photos and never thought any more about it – until we were leaving in our minbus.
As we came around the side of the tail, I noticed that there was some Chinese writing on the rear fuselage – and (I think) the badge and lettering of CFTE.
At that point my camera was put away and I was thoroughly wet and miserable anyway – so I didn’t manage to get a photo from the side.
So – FWIW, here are a couple of shots of the same machine from the rear……
