Li-2 Crashes near Moscow

You probably know this already but just in case ……………..

The Lisunov Li-2 has crashed near Moscow – killing 3 of the 5 people on board.

My sympathies go out to the families of those who dies.

I have photographed this machine a number of times – at Zhukovsky and Myatchkovo and it is sad to see its demise.

It would have been one of the attractions at the forthcoming ‘Flying Legends’ airshow in Moscow in mid-August.

PS – The BBC list this as the last flying Li-2, but the Hungarians have made their example, formerly at Szolnok, airworthy.
