Robots in Disguise

I don’t know how many folks we got on these forums that are my age, but these guys were a big part of my growing up. I loved the show (and the toys) because the characters could turn from robots into all manner of vehicles and sometimes animals. There were many characters that turned into aircraft we all know quite well. Some of them were:

Name – Aircraft Type

Starscream – F-15 Eagle
Skywarp – F-15 Eagle
Thundercracker – F-15 Eagle
Dirge – F-15 Eagle fuselage with delta-wings and canards (no vertical tails)
Thrust – F-15 Eagle fuselage with tail assembly like an A-10 and big lift fans in the main wings (VTOL-type jet)
Ramjet – F-15 Eagle fuselage with delta-wings and canards (vertical tails mid-mounted on main wings)
Blitzwing – MiG-25 Foxbat
Astrotrain – Shuttle Orbiter
Silverbolt – Concorde
Slingshot – AV-8 Harrier II
Sky Dive – F-16 Fighting Falcon
Fireflight – F-4 Phantom II
Air Raid – F-15 Eagle (the F-15 seemed quite popular with the creators….lol)
Vortex – SH-60 Seahawk
Powerglide – A-10 Thunderbolt II
Swoop – Pteranodon (hey….it flies :))

There were others, but those are some of the more well-known characters from the original cartoon and toy lineup. (The time period my generation grew up with.)

Was wondering if anyone else around here appreciated this classic series….
