JSF-F-35 and the Future

I think F-35 is a good bird but I am starting to have quite a few doubts about it

When you initially looked at F-35, it’s projected cost was to be less than 40m/plane, but that seemed unlikely from day one, and now the skyrocketing costs are deemed to make it’s costs go all the way up, I think it’s cost/plane will be around 100m, I mean if an F-15K with all the support, maintenance & crew training costs 100m/plane, what makes you think a plane generation ahead of it will cost that much.

I am also starting to doubt the F-35, it looks like it is a cold war relic like the F-22, although it’s stealth is useful, this “whole stealth force” proclaimed by US seems to be kind of the reason why the costs are going up and why it’s so limited in performance, the only advantages it seems to hold over other designs like F-18E/F and Rafale/Typhoon is it’s stealth.

F-35 is starting to really grow in weight and will be a one hell of an expensive bird.

Don’t forget US policy that countries not the best with them will probably get really downgraded F-35’s, they probably might not get all the US weapons like AIM-120 or JDAM, something like those weapons will stay in US until they are really needed(in case of War) but even then you would probably not get them. Besides on top of all that, it seems like a medium weight aircraft yet it’s range is not so great despite supercruise and foget deep strike, it only has 4 internal hardpoints and most of the time in the future it will be carrying weapons externally which will reduce range and speed.

Here is the problems I see with F-35
1)US policies of exporting it and the weapons
2)It’s cost
3)It’s performance

I seriously think JSF should’ve been a low RCS, but not really stealthy(although not stealthy as F-22) Multirole Fighter.
