Georgia makes Su-25KM 'Scorpion' sale

Georgia Plans to Conclude Contracts for Sale of Su-25KM Attack Aircraft

Georgia plans to conclude in the near future contracts for the sale abroad of 10 Su-25 attack aircraft.

“In the next few months, 10 Su-25 attack airplanes will be sold by use,” Georgia’s president, Mikhail Saakashvili, announced on Monday to journalists.

The head of the Georgian state did not name the countries with whom it is planned to conclude the contracts for the sale of the attack aircraft. According to information from unofficial sources, Ukraine or Turkmenistan may be the buyers.

The Su-25 airplanes are being assembled in the halls of the Tbilaviastroy production association, which was founded in 1941. In Soviet time several examples of cruise missiles also were assembled here.
