ISLAMABAD, March 19 (Xinhuanet) — A fighter plane of the Pakistani Air Force crashed near the central Pakistani city of Jhang on Friday while on routine mission, according to a statementof the air force.
“The Pakistani Air Force reports with regret that a F-7 Fighteraircraft, while on a routine operational training mission, crashed20 miles west of Jhang (Punjab province),” it said.
The crash apparently occurred due to technical malfunction, it said.
The pilot of the aircraft ejected safely, said the statement, adding that no loss of civilian life or property has been reported.
A board of inquiry has been ordered by the Air Force Headquarters to determine the cause of the accident, the statementsaid. Enditem
