Okay okay its the Guardian again but where theres smoke and all that……….

Jeff (or is it Geoff?) Hoon standing up for the military? I know its his job and all that but he doesn’t usually stand up for the sake of the armed forces, only his career.

What the treasury doesn’t seem to want to talk about is the government’s propensity for sending the military into harms way whilst at the same time not stumping up the full cost of doing so.

As always I am with the defence establishment on this and for once I find myself backing Mr Hoon. Well, theres a first time for everything.
