A post by Victor in the Indian Phalcon deal thread got me looking for information about its Chilean counterpart. I wasn’t expecting much, but was pleasently surprised to find some really interesting stuff :

However, since my Spanish isn’t very good, I got a few questions :
1. I recall hearing about integration problems the aircraft initially had. I think the term “white elephant” was used more than once. Has anyone got more on this, and possibly on the current status of the Phalcons ?
2. I can’t imagine Chile having such assets without its neighbours acquiring something comparable. What do Brasil, Argentina and other South American nations operate in the AWACS role?
