Eastern vs Western capabilities

How big do the people hear think the gap is between the finest of the West and the finest of the East is? I mean in terms of what makes up the aircraft ie, engines, electronics(targeting, navigation, detection etc), build quality and weapon effectiveness. How close does the east’s best (ie Russia, China, India etc) come to the west (USA, Britain, France, Germany, Israel etc)which for the purposes of the exercise is the better of the two.
