BA286 (Speedbird 286) reported a “near miss” this afternoon (20th february)(circa 14:00hrs)
whilst working 131.05 Lon, apparantly it was with a Military aircraft from
Bae Warton,
BA286 pilot apparantly was speaking to Lon con about something going in
front of them close, the Pilot sounded “more emotional” than the usual
commercial pilots so was obviously shook up by the alleged incident
I believe BA286 reckoned a 1000ft seperation came up, The Mil fighter
apparantly when questioned (ex Warton) reported it as 10 mile seperation.
London Control apparantly say the radar screens backed the BA claims.
No doubt an inquiry will follow!!!
