HAIFA, Israel — Rafael Armament Development Authority will be exhibiting many of its Full-Spectrum Solutions at the DEFEXPO Exhibition in Pragate, Maidan – New Delhi, India.

Air Defense Systems, Homeland Security, Urban Warfare, Helicopter Modernization and Naval Systems are among the advanced widespread solutions that Rafael will display as part of its new Integrated Business Areas; a program geared at providing better service and more comprehensive solutions to its customers.

For the first time, Rafael is exhibiting its SPYDER-SR Air Defense System. The SPYDER-SR, Surface-to-Air PYthon & DERby Air Defence System is a quick reaction, low level missile system designed to successfully counter attacks by aircraft, helicopters UAVs and PGMs. The SYPDER is a joint effort between Rafael and IAI – MBT Division and Elta. It incorporates Rafael’s most advanced, performance proven Air-to-Air missiles – the Derby active radar (RF) missile and Python 5 a dual waveband Imaging Infra Red (IIR) missile with IAI’s advanced C4I, high performance radar and missile technologies.

The SPYDER system’s high mobility allows quick deployment and operational agility and provides excellent protection of valuable assets, as well as first-class defence for forces located in the combat area. It has 360° engagement capability during day, night and under all weather conditions and can engage multiple threats simultaneously. It has Lock-On-Before Launch (LOBL) and Lock-On-After Launch (LOAL) modes of operation. The intercept envelope of the SPYDER system spans from less than 1km to 15km against targets flying at altitudes between 20m and 9000m.

Whether it’s the SPYDER for Air Defense, TACS – Total Area Control System for border protection, the Simon door buster and SL-WBSM wall buster for those sensitive urban operations or the wide range of naval attack and defense systems, Rafael’s experts will be on hand at its stand in Hall 11 in the Israeli Pavilion at DEFEXPO to give explanations and demonstrations of several of its Integrated Business Areas and the solutions they provide for all branches of any Armed Forces.

Rafael designs, develops, manufactures and supplies a wide range of advanced defense systems for all branches of the Israel Defense Forces and other Armed Forces worldwide. These leading edge products are based on Rafael’s vast technical and operational experience. In addition to its defense technologies, the company has also formed partnerships with civilian counterparts to develop commercial applications based on its proprietary technology.

Rafael is the second largest government-owned defense company in Israel with nearly 5000 employees and sales of $780M.
