Irish Air Corps – Which Jet ?

Which fighter/interceptor jet would be the most suitable for the Irish Air Corps ?

Purpose: To provide a basic defence and intercept capability.

Bearing in mind that only a small number would be purchased, between 10-15, and would be required to remain operational for at least 20 years – as was the case with their Fouga CM-170R Super Magister’s.

(Low operational/maintainence costs would also be a major consideration).
