Latest reports from india suggest that THE NEXT BATCH OF su30 mki FIGHTERS ARE READY FOR DELIVERY TO INDIA from Russia.
The report sites that 2 fully oprational fighters are to be delivered via AN124 transports next week.
A further 10 more expected to arrive at 2 fighters a week for 5-6 more weeks.
Reassembly and full induction will take IAF into Dec 2003.

Other major news regarding the IAF is that the first SU30 MKI indian manufactured war plane should role out early 2004.
First year prouction is only 4-6 planes. Rising to 8 in 2005.
Thereafter IAF hopes HAL to build 14 fighters a year for 7-10 years…..
Total oders is for 50 planes from Russia by 2005. Followed by 140 built in india by 2014..
The su30 mki IS Regarded by many to be the best fighter in the world until JSF & F22 entres service in next few years.
