Su-33 Flanker-D

Again, another Russian jet I figured I’d get some good info on.

Anyone know the current status of the Russian Su-33 fleet?

How many do they have?

And what about the Su-33KUB? How many of those? Are they able to carry all the stores and do the same things the Su-33 can?

I was playing Flanker 2.0 today (I never bought 2.5, and LO:MAC isn’t out yet though I probably won’t buy it anyway as I’m not as into the computer flight sims as I used to be.), and it got me curious about the Su-33.

It’s an immensely accurate sim, or so it seems (perhaps our Russian experts can tell me what it does right and what it does wrong when modelling the Su-27 and Su-33.

Anyway, I’ve now successfully landed and taken off of the Kuznetsov, so I was proud of myself for putting the effort to get that right.

An aircraft carrier is an awfully small thing to try to find and land on….

Anyway, in this game the Su-27 is purely air-to-air and the Su-33 is fully multi-role.

From what I know the Su-33 isn’t as much of a multi-role jet as it is in this game.

Can anyone help me figure out which stores/weapons the Flanker-D can carry?

I know it can carry the R-73, R-77, R-27, and R-60 AAM’s, plus a recce pod, a buddy refuel pod, and the giant Kh-41 anti-ship missile.

I believe it can also carry the Kh-35 anti-ship missile?

Any other weapons?

Kh-31A perhaps?
