Greek air force bomber crashes, airmen safe
An air force A-7 Corsair bomber crashed near a military airfield in western Greece Thursday. The two airmen ejected safely, authorities said.
The air force said the bomber was on a training flight when the pilot lost control of the aircraft which crashed near the Araxos air base, some 220 kilometers (137 miles) west of Athens.
An investigation was launched into the cause of the crash.
It was the third aircraft crash this year involving planes from Araxos air base.
Greece is one of the few remaining countries to use the A-7 and A-7H variant, which were donated from the US Navy.
