During the early stages of JSF program it was announced that the USMC would be procuring F-35B’s (VTOL) strike fighters to replace its aging fleet of F/A-18 Hornets and AV-8B+ Harriers. Thought, lately the word is that more USMC fighter squadrons will be assigned to USN CVW’s! So, will we have F-35B’s flying from American Carriers in the near future or does the USMC plan on a split buy? (F-35B’s & F-35C’s) What’s the word?
