Atlas Cheetah

South Africa’s semi-indigenous fighter, the Cheetah is never mentioned much around here (of course if it’s not about a certain three countries then it gets nothing on this board….) so I thought I’d do a thread.

I realized the other day that I don’t know a whole lot about the Cheetah. I only know that they were converted from Mirage III’s into the Cheetah E and Cheetah D (single and two-seat variants respectively).

Now I believe the Cheetah C has replaced the Cheetah E.

Can anyone give me good details about the capabilities of the Cheetah C, and a general background of the C model?

What about avionics and the cockpit?

What about various stores options.

I’ve almost never seen any photos of an armed Cheetah so is there anyone who might know what weapons/stores they can carry and where?
