Some of you may think these photos belong in the Historic aviation forum, but I beg to differ.
Either way I wanted to share them with you all. Several weeks ago my roommate went out of town for the Labor Day weekend, and I had to drive to Birmingham (Alabama not England….lol) to pick him up at the airport.
Well, the Southern Museum of Flight is very close to the airport so after I picked him up, we drove over to the museum just to have a look because I haven’t been there in years. The museum was closed because it was Labor Day so we just drove around the outside looking at the two aircraft on display outside.
Well as it turns out, there were many more aircraft on display about a quarter of a mile from the museum that belonged to the collection.
Most of them were pretty worn out looking, but they had some very interesting specimens.
I saw a T-2 Buckeye, T-37 Tweet, CH-54 Tarhe, L-39 Albatross, MiG-21U Mongol (yes…a two-seat MiG-21), a TF-102A Delta Dagger (yes….a two-seat TF-102), an F-105 Thunderchief, F-100 Super Sabre, R4D Skytrain, S-2 Tracker, A-12 Blackbird (yes…a single-seat Blackbird 🙂 ), and a T-39 Sabreliner.
Well, I only got photos of the two aircraft at the museum itself. I’ll get the others eventually.
Anyway, enjoy!
