Dutch Hawker Hurricanes

HI all,

On 4 February 1942, 39 Hawker Hurricanes arrived with the HMS Athene in Batavia in the Dutch East Indies. These Hurricanes were shipped for service with the RAF at Singapore, but the ship was diverted to Batavia due to the imminent fall of Singapore.

The following are the serial numbers of the Hurricanes that were delivered.

Hurricane IIA

Hurricane IIB
Z5317; Z5319; Z5341; Z5437; Z5546; Z5546; Z5555; Z5556; Z5602; Z5609; Z5612; Z5616; Z5619; Z5622; Z5664; Z5682; Z5683; Z5690; Z5691;BD778; BG677; BG677, BD890; BD892; BD896; BD927; BE149; BE194; BE206; BE210; BE218; BE225; BE293; BE332; BE333; BE362; BE363

Twelve (or 24?) of these were given to the Dutch East Indies Air Force (KNIL-ML).

I have the following questions:

1. Can anyone confirm the information concerning the serial numbers?
2. Can anyone give me details of the serial numbers of the Hurricanes given to the Dutch? One of them is Z5664.
3. Does anybody have more information about the Dutch Hurricanes?
