Iraq Concept – Mig-33 Desert Fulcrum

I was thinking of a reasonably priced (Ie 45-50 mil) fighter that Russia could supply to Iraq in an effort to compete with American and French manufacturers.

I first thought about the Su-27, but then I thought that the IAF have much more experience with handling Migs, and have already dealt with early model Mig-29’s.

Hence I came up with a concept Mig-33 called Desert Fulcrum which would be something able to match an F/A-18 or Block-50 F-16 in air-air combat and SEAD operations.

ps. anyone who can produce an artists rendition would be welcomed to make a sketch on the following attributes.

—-

# The Mig-33 air frame would be derivative titanium-steel composite with teflon and Kevlar inner coatings. I thought about pure titanium, but thats more a Sukhoi thing than Mig.

# New all-round compatible radar, passive detection suite, FLIR and if possible option for sideways-looking radar mode (This would require an enlarged nose module), to vastly improve the angle-of-attack available to the Mig-33.

#Up to date SAM-counters including aft pod dazzler, flare and chaff dispenser and towed decoy array (Turd).

# Removable conformal fuel tanks to be placed on the spine of the aircraft like the F-16 Block-52.

#forward refuelling probe as standard

# helmet mount HUD auto-cueing

# radar absorbency coatings ceramic and paint as standard

# dual-mode improved shock landing gear with soft-mode (landing and takeoff from sand strips) and hard gear for concrete roads and runways.

# enhanced tolerance uprating of the engines to allow all-weather use in sandy particulate conditions, with improved exhaust of foreign objects (like the A-10 with hardened engine lining and flexible rotary turbofan blades).

# new RWR and threat-avoidance consistent with Su-35 export standard

# K-36/37 ejection system as standard

# full compatibility with all arsenal air-ground munitions and deployment systems.

#enhanced fire retardency and halide extinguisher system

# retained rapid removable ability for both engines

Marks out of 10 please. I want this baby for the Cyprus Air Force.
