Low level tornado attacks

Here’s a US Navy pic (ex-globalsecurity.org)of Shaibah airbase after it was attacked by RAF tonado’s. If you look carefully you can see at least two blackened 45′ lines crossing the runways where I think JP233’s have been dropped. There’s one crossing the 45′ intersection second from the bottom and another crossing the lower intersection. At the top of the pic is what looks like runway damage from a clip of 8 1000 pound bombs, delivered at 45′ degrees to the runnways.

I’ve heard differing reports about the effectiveness of low level RAF atacks of runways during Desert Storm. I understand they were mostly successful, but that the JP233 didnt perform as expected in destroying concrete. I still low and fast is a great way to attack runways. If anybody has more stories about RAF low level attacks – there were over 100 sorties of this type – please put them up here.
