Do we all hate the Mig-21???

I have to bring this up, because evryone slates to the good ol’ 21 because of all the deaths and attrition occuring in the IAF. But has there been many recent 21 crashes outside India?

Is India to blame for its crshes, as I heard some of the losses were evn upgraded aircraft?

I really like the Super-7, even though everyone reckons its really just missile-fodder for Indian Su-30’s.

Is it the small size of the Mig-21 that has stopped it from being a major threat to AMRAAM-armed aircraft? Would it be possibel to ever upgrade a Fishbed to the point that it could distinctly threaten such an opponent?

I always thought that modern avionics, navigation and weapons systems were more important than the actual airframe and flight performance itself. Just look at the Mig-29 compared to the mighty Su-27. No contest….is there?
