I was in conversation with a chap who was at Fairford on Saturday last week. Having carefully parked the car a safe distance from the base he started viewing and photographing the B-52, he then proceeded to a point close to the fence to await any aircraft movements. For the second time that day he was approached by the police and asked for some ID, which he provided. It was at this time his airband scanner crackled in to life with a Brize Norton movement, upon being asked what the radio was for me my friend proudly told the police that it was an airband scanner. At this point the scanner was confiscated as according to the police it is illegal to listen to it, my friend is now waiting to hear if any charges are to be made. Has anybody else had similar problems?
