509th Bomb Wing has deployed

For those of you wondering if and when the war will start, I can tell you that yesterday elements of the 509th Bomb Wing left Whiteman AFB in Missouri for an undisclosed location. The 509th is the wing which operates the B-2A “stealth” bomber. We don’t bring these out for show, people.

Best guess: they stay in Fairford for a few days and head to Diego once the war starts. I’m sure we’ve all seen the pictures of the climate-controlled hangars that were erected on the flightline at Diego.

Lets just hope this goes better than the last time bombers from the 509th were deployed to participate in a war…
