On 10 February 2003, members of the press were invited to view the departure of seven RAF Marham Wing Tornado GR4s before their seven hour journey to the Middle East. Local and national TV, radio and press were able to view the aircraft being prepared in their hardened aircraft shelters before witnessing the aircraft depart in three separate flying groups.
