RQ-1 Predator

The recent discussion of the Predator made me wonder what all the USAF has in store for this neat little UAV. I’d say that General Atomics will be building them for quite a while as the USAF seems to have fallen in love with the thing. First Hellfires now Stingers and then of course eventually the SSB that’s in development. What next?

In effect, the Predator is the first UCAV to enter service anywhere. And while not totally decdicated to that role, it has proven quite effective.

I’m wondering what you all think of the Predator and it’s future with the USAF (and any foreign nations that might acquire it).

Also, how many different variants are there?

RQ-1A? RQ-1B or RQ-1L? MQ-1B?

And what has come of the new variant with more powerful engine for higher performance?
