5 Sqn and ASTOR……..

Hi all – my first point to ponder is the report that 5 sqn is due to reform as the ASTOR squadron, with the Bombardier Global Express battlefield surveillance radar. Does anyone know where the report in AFM came from? All my sources (here in the RAF) are convinced that 5 sqn are bound for Eurofighter……?

Secondly, just to let you know, if you weren’t already aware, the first Jaguar GR3 has arrived at RAF Cosford as an instructional airframe. I’ll be off down the airfield in a couple of weeks to the hanger, and will find more out then…….
