Remember my earlier postings on the impending purchase of the Su-30MKM for the Royal Malaysian Air Force.
Now it seems that the MKM has got an eleventh hour candidate against it, and it is none other than a twin-seater Su-35 courtesy of the KNAAPO people.
Although the technical details are sparse, the KNAAPO people are claiming that their 35 is a true multi-role fighter equipped with the most advanced avionics available.
KNAAPO claimed its Super Flanker is up and flying while IAPO’s 30MKM are not yet ready.
KNAAPO did not participate in the tender for the RMAF Multi-role combat Aircraft programme as the 35 is not ready then but since then are ready to supply the RMAF with them.
KNAAPO claimed the RMAF which had checked the IAPO’s MKM is set to go to its plants to check the 35.
Its already going on the offensive locally and a feature on the 35 will be coming out in the local papers this Sunday
