Eurofighter DA6 prototype crashed this morning near Belvis de la Jara, south of Madrid. The aircraft was built by EADS-CASA in 1996 in its Getafe factory. The plane was operating from Getafe AB and when the accident happened it was doing a flight trial at 45000 feet.
Apparently the TWO engines stopped in flight, all atempts to restart them were unsucessful.Pilots Colonel Cuadrado and Commander Lombo ejected safely.
This could be a major problem for the Eurofighter problem, with the first aircrafts being delivered soon to the 4 different air forces.
The two engines stopped if true is a real problem, but these are first news from non-aviation press, so it could be a mistake .
