“OAO Tupolev general designer, Igor’ Shevchuk, has reported that the firm on its own initiative, is working on the scientific and technical stock for a program to create in the interests of long-range aviation a future strategic aviation complex. It is planned to complete scientific research and experimental design work on this subject not earlier than 2010 – 2015.
The new airplane will not be a development of the Tu-160.
