KUWAIT, Aug 31 (Reuters) – Kuwait and the United States signed an arms deal on Satruday worth some $2 billion, finalising an accord for 16 Boeing Co. (nyse: BA – news – people) AH-64D Apache Longbow attack helicopters dating back to the 1991 Gulf War.
U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait Richard Jones signed for the American side the government-to-government deal at a ceremony at Kuwait’s Defence Ministry after the two sides resolved differences over specifications.
No tag price was officially released at the signing but experts had earlier said it was worth around $2 billion. Kuwait’s Defence Minister Sheikh Jaber al-Hamad al-Sabah signed for the Kuwaiti side.
