Reason to bomb Iraq

Anyone think its unlikely that Al Quada have bases in Iraq, considering Ossie thinks Saddam is the infidel for being buddies with the US in the 80s?

Their original aims: to destroy Saddam, and to defend Iran. So why would there be bases in Iraq?
